Before works, an expert:

• identifies the materials that may contain them,

• takes samples, taking precautions not to expose or contaminate the premises, and sends the samples to a laboratory.
   

Electrical equipment

• Capacitors: the presence of PCB is determined based on the reference of the capacitor. See the detailed list of capacitors containing PCB on www.chemsuisse.ch
   
• Transformers: check the date of manufacture and the presence of PCB in the transformer.
   

• Check the directive from the Built Environment Toxicology Department regarding the "Pre-works PCB diagnosis" (diagnostic PCB avant travaux).
